Summary of the project

As part of an international project to develop an automated fuel cell stacking system, we provided electrical design and technical support services for the assembly work.

The aim of the device was to achieve high-precision stacking of individual components with integrated control of dimensions, micro-defects and cleanliness, which is crucial for applications in the field of electromobility. The system was designed with an emphasis on flexibility, safety and reliability to meet the demanding requirements of development environments.

Implementation

Our task included the processing of complete electrical design documentation in the EPLAN environment (2D and 3D designs), including the design of electrical switchgear, drive systems, safety features and integration of peripheral equipment. The designs were carried out in accordance with applicable technical standards, in particular EN ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061. The configuration of the PLC system on the TwinCAT 3 platform was also delivered, together with the design of the basic structure of the control software. This included the setup of the drives, the configuration of the servo amplifiers as well as the implementation of the safety logic using TwinSAFE.

The cooperation also included coordination and technical support of the installation team during the on-site installation of the equipment in Germany, including solving technical issues and checking compliance with the project documentation.

Results

The supplied electrical projection solution and installation support contributed significantly to the smooth integration of the system and its commissioning. Precise design and high-quality technical implementation have resulted in a reliable and safe system that meets the high standards for fuel cell stacking in research and development for e-mobility.
